Asia:
In the Asian markets, we saw a mixed day with the NIKKEI 225 and ASX 200 experiencing slight decreases, while the Shanghai and Hang Seng indices recorded gains. The currency markets in Asia also had a negative day with the AUDUSD, NZDUSD, USDJPY, and USDCNY all seeing declines.
Precious Metals:
Gold and silver prices took a hit today, with both experiencing decreases in their value. Gold dropped by 1.03% to 2,326.45 USD/oz, while silver saw a larger decline of 3.90% to 29.530 USD/oz.
Europe/EMEA:
Moving on to Europe, the major stock markets had a negative day with the CAC 40, FTSE 100, and DAX 30 all recording losses. The currency markets in Europe also saw declines, with the EURUSD, GBPUSD, and USDCHF all experiencing negative movements.
US/Americas:
In the US, the Dow, S&P 500, and Nasdaq all advanced, while the Russell 2000 declined. In Canada, the TSX Composite and TSX 60 both saw losses. Brazil’s Bovespa index also recorded a decline.
Energy:
The oil markets had a mixed day, with crude oil and Brent both seeing declines in their prices. Natural gas experienced a significant drop of 4.37%, while gasoline prices increased slightly.
Bonds:
Finally, looking at bond yields, we saw movements in various countries around the world. Japan’s bond yield decreased, while US 2’s and 10’s also saw declines. European countries like Bunds, France, Italy, and Spain all experienced decreases in their bond yields.
