In Asia, the major stock markets experienced a negative day, with the NIKKEI 225, Shanghai, Hang Seng, ASX 200, SENSEX, and Nifty50 all recording declines. In the currency markets, there was a mixed day with fluctuations in the AUDUSD, NZDUSD, USDJPY, and USDCNY.
Moving on to Europe/EMEA, the major stock markets also saw declines, with the CAC 40, FTSE 100, and DAX 30 all closing in the red. Similarly, the currency markets had a mixed day with changes in the EURUSD, GBPUSD, and USDCHF.
In the US/Americas region, the Dow advanced while the S&P 500, Nasdaq, and Russell 2000 declined. In Canada, the TSX Composite and TSX 60 also experienced mixed results. The Brazilian market, Bovespa, saw gains for the day.
In the energy sector, the oil markets had a negative day, with decreases in Crude Oil, Brent, Natural gas, Gasoline, and Heating oil. Additionally, we saw movements in commodities, with top gainers including Rice, Wheat, Oat, and Potatoes, while top losers were Natural Gas, Corn, Cocoa, and Orange Juice.
Lastly, in the bond market, we observed changes in yields for various countries, including Japan, US, Bunds, France, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Portugal, Spain, and UK Gilts.
