Let’s start in Asia, where the NIKKEI 225 rose by 3.41% while the Shanghai index saw a slight decline of -0.17%. In currency markets, the AUDUSD and NZDUSD both saw gains, while the USDJPY and USDCNY experienced mixed movements.
Moving over to Europe/EMEA, the CAC 40, FTSE 100, and DAX 30 all closed the day in the green. Similarly, the EURUSD and GBPUSD strengthened against the USD, while the USDCHF remained relatively stable.
In the US/Americas, the Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq, and Russell 2000 all posted gains, reflecting positive investor sentiment. In Canada, the TSX Composite and TSX 60 also saw positive movements, while Brazil’s Bovespa index declined slightly.
In the energy markets, both Crude Oil and Brent prices rose, alongside gains in Natural Gas, Gasoline, and Heating Oil. On the commodity front, Crude Oil and Silver were among the top gainers, while Orange Juice and Cocoa experienced losses.
Lastly, bond yields showed varied movements, with Japan, US, Bunds, Italy, and Greece bonds all seeing changes in their yields.
